Little Village and Yokel Magazine are joining forces on Friday, August 7 from 4-7p at our pop-up space at 7590 South State Street in Lowville!

Come hang out with us and make your own zine! Drop in for a few minutes or stay for the duration. This is not a structured event or a workshop. Just a bunch of art supplies in one place for us to share.

What we’re bringing:
– Random art supplies (markers, pens, scissors, glue sticks)
– Scanner/copier (for black and white copies)
– bright colored copy paper (8.5 x 11)
– snacks

What you need to bring:
– A burning desire to create your own tiny publication

There is no cost to attend. Black and white copies will be limited to 5 per person.

Fungi-focused group show featuring local art inspired by our local species… More details coming soon …

Come explore mushrooms at Little Village! Together we will learn ‘what is a mushroom’… we will get hands on with 4 different mushroom species- examining Lion’s mane, Blue oyster, Shiitake, and Chestnut with all our senses as well as through a magnifying glass. Learn about the different mushroom statures, the mushroom lifecycle, and basic mushroom terminology! We will learn how to make spore prints and there will be a kid-friendly mushroom food tasting (pizza!) and everybody will be given their own oyster mushroom growing project to take home Geared towards 1st-4th graders (or for kids of any age!)
