After being deeply inspired by the Fantasic Fungi documentary, I signed up for my first mycology class as a Mother’s Day gift to myself. Delving into the expansive and diverse world of mushrooms further fueled my belief that the ‘future is fungal’ and that I had to be involved in some way. Not long after, with the support of my family, Little Village Mushrooms came into being. I imagined an urban farm that served as a gathering spot where people could come together to learn and be inspired by fungi, food, art, and community.
Little Village Mushrooms is a controlled environment farm which means we can provide organically grown, hyper-local gourmet mushrooms to our community all year round. Our mission is to go beyond the historical concept of a farm, by bringing people together to celebrate and learn about the exciting world of fungi through workshops, collaborations, creative gatherings, and farm to table events. I look forward to growing this vision within our community, and much like mycelium, making deep connections along the way.
